Making a great first impression is key with your save the date invitations! People either keep em’ or toss em’ – you want them to keep them, put them on their fridge, add the date to their blackberry, and circle the date on their calendar!

Invitations are usually done to look magnificent with no expense spared, but in reality, the save-the-date’s are really the first thing that people see and the announcement that people see. Make them unique, add in a little flare and make sure that you have fun making them or designing them.

Here’s a few design ideas that I’ve come across from friends and family getting married this season:

  • Be bold – be bright and make an impact on your wedding guests.
  • Be simple or complicated, it doesn’t matter, have fun with them. Magnets & Puzzles are popular this year. How about a puzzle magnet!?! Well, that may not stick on the fridge for very long.
  • Take a few pictures and include them, some how on your save the date.
  • Do you bake? How about some cookies for your sweet-tooth friends out there!
  • Make a few stickers – perfect for appointment books.
